MURRAY, Marion Gertrude - Of Flint, age 96, died Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Fenton Healthcare.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Don Bunker officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 1-8pm Tuesday and 1pm Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Marion was born in Fredrickton, New Brunswick, Canada on August 29, 1921, the daughter of the late Dorian E. and Edith (Boulter) Pond. Marion grew up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. On October 12, 1946, she married Harvey Allen Granger. They moved to the United States shortly after. Harvey and Marion adopted three children. Glen William, Margaret (Maggie) Catherine and Mary Louise.
They lived in Swartz Creek for many years. Harvey passed away on February 19, 1968. Marion then obtained her nursing degree and worked many years at Flint Osteopathic Hospital. On September 20, 1975, Marion married Lawrence Earl Murray from Bailey, Michigan, where they retired. Marion returned to the Flint area after Lawrence passed away on June 8, 1990. She was very active in church activities her entire life.
Surviving are son, Glen Granger, and daughter Maggie See;
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Louise Forgie, grandson, Jason Rogers, sister, Hilda Gosselin, son-in-law, Dennis K. Rogers, and daughter-in-law, Terry Granger.
