WOOD, Alice Audrey – of Genesee, age 90, passed away August 31, 2015 at Regency at Grand Blanc. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Cremation will follow visitation. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Monday, September 14, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Area 13.
Alice was born in Flint, MI on April 11, 1925, daughter of the late George and Audrey (Chambers) Abernethy. She married Thomas Wood on January 23, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 2010. Alice was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. She loved sewing, cooking, baking, spending time traveling and belonging to Holiday Ramblers. Most of all she loved her family.
Alice is survived by her children, Susan Jayne (Michael) Sobol, Sheryl Jeanne (Gary) Ackerman, Thomas E. (Jodi) Wood, Jr., Sharmon (Gregory) Kehler; grandchildren, Richard (Chrysta) Sobol, Steven (Stephanie) Sobol, Andrew (Katie) Sobol, Scott (Jill) Sobol, Ellyn and John Ackerman, Corey Wood, Timothy (Mariah) Wood, Jessica Kehler (Blain Adkins), Alyson Kehler (Phil Wood) and Jillian (Brett) Bullard; 15 great-grandchildren.
