RODGERS, Barbara Jean Dale “Bonnie” - Of Flint, age 80, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Mr. John Straw officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Visitation 3-8pm Friday and 12pm Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Bonnie was born in Essexville, MI on August 14, 1933 and was a resident of Flint since her marriage to Ronald Rodgers on August 25, 1956 in Saginaw. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2008. She was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and she helped found an organization called Blind Outdoor Leisure Development (BOLD). Bonnie worked as a transcriptionist for Post Cereal.
Surviving are her son, Randy and wife Lisa of Flint;
daughter, Sharon and son-in-law, Rick of Mt. Morris;
grandchildren, Nicole, Bryanna and Joshua;
great grandson, Ayden Gardner;
brothers, Randy Aumend and Jim and wife Eve Aumend and family and "sister," Carol Haglund all of Bay City;
special friends, Prudence Lindsey of Ohio, Pat Connelly of Clio, Ron and Ruth Carlton of Clio;
a host of other wonderful friends.
