Gerald "Jerry" Robert Canze
Age 81 of Chesaning passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Strawser officiating. Burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Friday from 4pm to 8pm.
Jerry was born August 25, 1943 in Owosso, the son of Stanley and Beatrice (Farlow) Canze.
He graduated from Chesaning High School in the graduating class of 1961, after graduation Jerry attended Trine University.
Jerry was an avid outdoorsman. He looked forward to fishing, hunting, playing a round of golf, traveling, and spending time up at his northern home where many family memories were made.
He married Shirley Anne Whitford in Corunna on March 12, 1966. She later predeceased him on April 4, 2022.
Jerry worked as a sheet metal supervisor at Zack Company in Flint for over 40 years before retiring.
Jerry is survived by his children, Denise (Douglas) Jones, Mark (Patricia) Bisel, Bruce (Sarah) Bisel, Janice (Paul) King, and Robert Canze; grandchildren, 10; great-grandchildren, 12; great-great-grandchildren, 2; siblings, George (Lenore) Canze, Betty (Doug) Osmer, and Albert (Laurie) Canze; and with several other loving family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Canze, parents, Stanley and Beatrice Canze, siblings, Gene Canze and Ruth Bleisner.
