ESSE, Samuel E. Jr., - of Beulah, formerly Clio, Michigan, age 90, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Wayne Carnahan officiating. Burial in Assyrian Cemetery in Flint with Military Honors. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 10AM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Passion for Paws Pet Adoptions or the Assyrian Cemetery.
Sam was born June 30, 1927 in Clio, Michigan to the late Samuel and Sharin (Oshana) Esse Sr.; Mr. Esse is a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a jack of all trades, a skilled mechanic, and truck driver. Sam was a member of the Platte River Association. He loved playing Bingo, and going to the casino. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are: Daughter, Monica (David) Rapin-Archer; Son, Sam Esse III; Grandchildren: Michelle (Rob) Rankin, Nick (Katie) Rapin, and Andrew Rapin (Fiancé John Lee); Greatgrandchildren: Jasmine VanAmburg, Spencer VanAmburg, Connor Rankin, Lauren Rankin, and Gunner Rapin; Sister, Sarah Warda of San Francisco, CA; Extended family: Tiffany (Dave) DeLay-Allen, Aiden and Payton Allen, Robin and Paul Thomason, Caleb, Promise, and Kane Thomason, Josh (Lisa) Grace, Allison and Isabelle Grace, Jeremy (Jodi) Grace, Melody Grace, Michael (Mandy) Grace, June Grace, and Toni Bieber. Sam was also preceded in death by his life long companion, Marge Grace; Sisters: Helen Lazar of Flint, Frances Caine of Genesee, Esther Koshaba of Clio, Dorothy Aldridge of Clio, and Marian Langley of Birch Run.
