Edmund was born in Flint, Michigan on September 6, 1946, the son of Edmund and Ella (Bernardi) McPhee. He married Mary Gail Palinsky on April 20, 1968, at St. Robert Catholic Church in Flushing

He passed away after a 21 year-long battle with cancer. He always pushed through discomfort and pain all while never complaining. Cancer never once altered his positive outlook, witty personality, humor and happiness.

Life is not defined by how we die , but how we lived. And he absolutely lived an incredibly full, generous, giving and gratuitous life.

He served in the Michigan National Guard, attended OCS at Michigan Military Academy. He served his country and participated in active duty missions.

He was a Master Plumber and spent years working in the Skilled Trades as a Foreman and Project Supervisor. He retired from Goyette Mechanical in 2008.

He started working with his future father-in-law, Andy Palinsky, in dance productions in 1965. Later he became a partner with his wife, Mary Gail, at MGM Dance for 33 years. He specialized in music editing, scenery design and construction. Later, he worked hand in hand with his daughter Laurie Anne, as she slowly took over the intricate productions. Thus, He spent a lifetime working and supporting his wife’s love of dance.

He collected hand crafted wooden warship sail boats, electric trains, pewter knights, and dozens of books about battle and war time history. He also loved old movies in all genres. It was because of his affinity for history in which he could hold a incredibly knowledgeable conversation with anyone about any historical fact.

As a friend, he was always there for anyone, at anytime, for anything they may need. From the middle of the night to a raging blizzard, he was the one that everyone could count on being there to help in anyway.

But mostly, he loved his Lord and his family above all else. He devoted his entire life to loving, protecting, and encouraging his wife, children, grandchild and his beloved Kitty. He supported and attended every single activity and adventure each of them chose. No matter where or when. Even if it's just sitting on the swing on the deck with his Kitty.

He will not only be missed by his family, but by everyone who's life he touched.

“Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."

Edmund is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Gail; children, Laurie Anne McPhee and Gerald Scott of Grand Blanc, Jeffrey and wife Hyejin McPhee of Los Angeles; granddaughter, Sawyer Alessandra Mason; brother, David and wife Judy McPhee; sister, Elaine Spencer; and beloved cat, Baby Kitty. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lois Wright; brother, Donald McPhee; and nephew, David McPhee.
