POWELL, Willie Jewell - Of Flint, age 87, died Sunday, July 30, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 1-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Willie was born in Arbyrd, Missouri on November 12, 1929, the daughter of the late John and Nettie (Barnett) Winstead and was a resident of Flint most of her life. She was employed at AC Spark Plug for 39 years. Willie worked for the election board and volunteered at the Flint Art Fair. She was very charitable, donating to many local charities, especially for helping cats.
Surviving are sons, John (Christine) and Jeff;
Grandchildren, Misty, Sarah, Justin and Ned;
6 great-grandchildren and many nieces.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Ellen Walker-Simpson.
