MILITO, JOACHIM JOSEPH "JACK" -- Age 89, of Flint, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014. A Funeral mass will be held 1 PM Saturday, February 15, 2014, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint. Father Robert Copeland, Celebrant. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 2 PM - 8 PM Friday, with a rosary being prayed at 7 PM, at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Visitation will also be held 12 PM until time of mass at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Woodhaven or McLaren Hospice. Jack was born July 17, 1924 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of the late, Vincezno and Angela (Agnello) Milito. He married Francine Loftus in Grand Rapids, Michigan on July 17, 1948. He graduated from Purdue University in 1949. He was honored by the Marconi Club in 1955 as an outstanding citizen. Jack was inducted into the Grand Rapids Catholic Central Hall of Fame in 1996 with his brothers Peter and Carl. Mr. Milito was on the Board of Directors for the IMA for several years, and worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring as a General Superintendent of Production in 1979. His greatest joy in life was his family, friends, and sports. Surviving are his wife, Francine; daughter-in-law, Linda Sue (Jim) Kohn; son, Kenneth (Karen) Milito, daughters, Nancy (Neil) Frederick, Mary Kay (Harold) Plotik, Patricia Strauss, Annette Milito (John Lester), Linda (Paul) Johnson and Yvonne Milito; grandchildren, Marci (Dominic) Buscemi, Rhett (Gretchen) Milito, Jack (Karen) Milito, Christopher (Hiromi) Frederick, Jessica (Paul) Johnson, Angela and Erika Strauss, Alyssa Lester; great grandchildren, Jack Buscemi, Sophie Frederick, Michael Milito, Jayda Milito and many fond nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son, Michael, sisters, Rose Brower, and Rosaria Lauria and brothers, Joseph, Peter and Carl. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Woodhaven and Hospice for their wonderful care that Jack received.
