MCCLELLAND, Sharon Kay - Of Fenton, age 67, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Hurley Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 1pm Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Moose Lodge in Fenton. Cremation has taken place.
Sharon was born in Flint on February 19, 1949. Sharon loved life. She loved spending time with her family, loved the holidays especially Christmas, and having all the family at her home for dinner and afterwards poker games. Sharon loved kids and kids loved her. She was always going out of her way to make everyone happy. Sharon really loved the casinos and when she wasn’t at the casino, she loved spending time at the Eagles or the Moose Lodge playing pull tabs. Sharon worked for General Motors for 30 years, hiring in 1969 and retiring in 1999. She started at Fisher Body, transferred to Buick City, then finally ended up at Buick in the Engine Plant #36. Sharon loved fishing trips every year up to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan for two weeks. She loved taking everyone out on the Pontoon. She was always wanting to have fun with everyone, always enjoying the night time pontoon rides. Sharon was a strong lady, struggling with liver transplant, lung cancer, and brain cancer, survived all that then had bone cancer, she fought hard until the end. Sharon was the strongest person we ever knew.
Surviving are husband, Daniel McClelland;
daughter, Kimberly Elliott and husband Jeffery;
stepson, Patrick McClelland and wife Stacey;
grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, Aiden, Charlie and Mikki;
great-grandchildren, Gage, Harper and Amelia;
sisters, Susan Moore, Sandra Lord and husband Robert;
brothers, Dennis Sharp and wife Suzan, Dave Sharp, Harold Sharp, Eugene Sharp and Keith Sharp;
sister-in-law, Lois Schneider;
several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Sharp and step-daughter, Sherry McClelland.
RIP Sharon, you will be missed and loved by everyone who’s heart you touched.
