POPE, Gerald Wayne – of Montrose, age 90, died peacefully Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Fostorian Manor in Flushing. He was born on May 26, 1927, in Flint, Michigan and was raised in Cardwell and Kennett, Missouri. He spent most of his life in Montrose, Michigan. Gerald married Nancy D. Taylor, March 4, 1949, and they had three children. Nancy died in September, 2006.
He is survived by children, Amy K. (Terry) Laurie, Julia A. (Douglas) Stone, and Kevin G. (Tami) Pope, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Jeannie, cousin Joe (Betty) Pope, and many other family members. Gerald retired from General Motors and spent much of his time feeding the birds and wild animals in his yard. He has now gone to join his wife, brother, mother, father, and all who went before him. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Donations to the Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
