BAKER, Kenneth Lavoy – of Burton, age 61, passed away peacefully in Baldwin, MI on October 24, 2014. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Chaplain Jim Salo officiating. Burial, with Fire and Military Honors, will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 12-4 & 6-8 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Ken was born in Flint, MI on September 1, 1953, son of the late James and Pauline (Starnes) Baker. He married his wife, Pam in Grand Blanc on May 29, 1976. Ken worked for GM for 30 years, retiring in 2006. He was also on the Burton Fire and Rescue Department for 35 years. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He lived for his grandchildren and was a true hero to many.
Ken is survived by his wife, Pam; daughters, Tina (Brian) Gerow and Kelly (Zack) Chase; grandchildren, Kenny, Madison, Parker and Ryder; siblings, Gina, Connie, Karen, Kevin, Robin, Nancy and their spouses; several nieces and nephews.
