LaBELLE, Ernest A. “Ernie” – Of Flint, age 81, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at his residence.
Cremation will take place following the visitation.
Visitation 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. LaBelle was born in Glens Falls, New York on March 27, 1931,
the son of Treffle and Alma Labelle, and was a resident of the Flint area since 1952.
He served in the U.S. Air Force 1949-1952.
Ernest and Mary “Cathy” were married on October 31, 1952 in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Mr. LaBelle was employed by General Motors Fisher Body Coldwater Road for 32 years, retiring in 1989 and was a member of UAW Local #326.
Surviving are wife, Mary “Cathy”;
two children, John and wife Judy of California and
Sherri LaBelle of Flint;
11 grandchildren;
19 great-grandchildren;
one brother, Thomas;
many nieces, nephews and loving in-laws in Texas.
He was preceded in death by his 3 loving sons, William, in May, 1977, Richie, in September, 1997 and Steve in 2012; beloved and special grandson, Greg LaBelle; 4 brothers and one sister.
