Essie J. (McLean) Perakovic, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. She was born in Saginaw on September 24, 1920 to parents Hugh and Jane McLean. Essie and her husband Anthony T. Perakovic, Sr. had six children together. Together they raised their children on the principle of caring, giving, and helping others in time of need even if they did not have much themselves. Essie had a personal goal of wanting to learn something new every day. Anyone who knew her will remember her for her kind and loving heart. She enjoyed feeding the birds, playing bingo, casino trips, and fixing and restoring little things. Essie will be lovingly remembered by her children: Judy Hill, Anthony (Linda) Perakovic, Jr., and Dorothy Silvis; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; siblings: Walter McLean and Ethel Tackbury; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Anthony T. Perakovic, Sr.; children: Clara Jane Armstrong, Thomas Kelly Armstrong, Michael Perakovic, and Joseph Perakovic; grandson, Gordon Hill; sons-in-law: Al Silvis and Richard Lorts. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1pm. |
