YANTA, Theodore John – of Davison, MI, formerly of Otisville, MI, age 89, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, December 30, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1811 Seymour Avenue, Flint, MI 48503; Fr. Philip Schmitter celebrant. Cremation will take place following the Mass. The family will receive visitors 1-7 PM Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Monday, December 30, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed 5 PM Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, followed by a Memorial Service, under the auspices of the Third Degree Knights of Columbus Council #4090 at 5:30 PM.
Ted was born in Morrison, Minnesota on March 8, 1930, son of the late Ed and Verna (Lepinski) Yanta. He retired from General Motors after 35 years of service. Ted married Barbara Mann on December 12, 2015 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Otisville, MI.
Ted is survived by his wife, Barbara Mann Yanta; 4 children, Robert (Kim) Yanta, Carol (Dave) Campbell, Vickie Smith and Paula Yanta; 3 step-daughters, Carolyn Borrow, Mary (Harvey) Sontag and Lucinda (Jim Augsberger) Mann; 7 grandchildren, Michael (Tara) Yanta, Melissa (Mike) Floridda, Tara Furno, Jamie Sclafani, Jerry Lee Strauser, Jerrad Strauser and Cody (Sarah) Lewis; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 2 brothers, Simon (Barbara) Yanta and James (Susan) Yanta; very dear friends, Jim, Ruby and Isaac Jordan; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Verna Yanta; first wife and mother of his children, Erma Yanta; infant son, Michael Yanta; 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
