McCLURE, Levesta Alicene – Of Flint Township, age 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jim Nelson and Pastor Shawn Cook co-officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Alicene was born in Clarkton, Missouri on June 23, 1929, the daughter of the late Walter E. and Landus Grimes.
On June 10, 1950 she married Dick McClure in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. Then, they moved to Flint.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek.
Surviving are two sons, Elden Ray (Dianne) and Ronald Wayne;
granddaughters, Christe (Matt)Exline,
Jennie (Ryan) Ashley and
Katie Hosea;
great-grandchildren, Emerson and Paige Ashley and Haylee Hosea;
sister, Shelby (Jim) Giguere;
brother, Keith (Patricia) Grimes;
several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, on May 14, 2009, one month before their 59th anniversary; brother, W.E. “Junior” Grimes; sister-in-law, Jonice Grimes and daughter-in-law, Kathryn McClure.
