DIFFIN, WILLIAM A. – Of Davison, age 80, died suddenly on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at McLaren-Flint.
Per Bill’s wishes cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024 at Eastgate Baptist Church, 4226 East Atherton Road, Burton, Pastors Jerome Taylor and Dan Martin co-officiating.
Visitation 3 p.m. Friday until the time of the service at the church.
Those desiring, contributions per the family’s wishes.
William was born in Flint, Michigan on May 19, 1944, the son of the late Donald and Lois (Orvis) Diffin.
Bill graduated from Flint Central High School, where he was a member of both the track and cross-country teams. He ran the track in the Canusa Games during high school.
Bill proudly served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy and remained in the Navy Reserves for 18 years.
He was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association from 2010-2015. Bill enjoyed tinkering on cars, riding his trike; loved hunting, especially archery, spending time with his friends and family.
On April 24, 2004 Bill married Linda Cherry in Las Vegas.
Surviving are his wife, Linda;
3 daughters, Michelle (Dennis) Poole of Davison,
Shannon “Danni” Pedersen of Umatilla, FL and
Tamara Malone of Flint;
step-children, Kimberly (Todd) Cox of Kingsley, MI,
Dennis (Michelle) Poole of Davison and
Leonard (Stephanie) Poole of Falling Waters, VA;
grandchildren, Matthew (LeeAnne) Spencer, Zachary Poole, Ryan (Abagail) Pedersen, Miranda Pedersen, Katrina (Dennis) Nash, Lacie Poole, Logan Poole, William Cox, James Cox, Ian Cox, Abigail Poole, Claire Poole and Senica Duncan;
8 great-grandchildren;
3 brothers, Michael (Mary Ellen) Hodges, Donald (Gail) Wolosuk and Stan Wolosuk;
2 sisters, Donna (David) Fige, Diane (James) Smith and
his dog, Louie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; granddaughter, Erin Pedersen and brother, Patrick, in 1947.
