DILLON, William F. “Bill” III – of Mt. Morris, age 63, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Bill at 11AM Friday, October 13, 2017 at Ss. Francis and Clare Parish - 12157 Church Street in Birch Run. Rev. Fr. Thomas McNamara officiating. Burial in Birch Run Township Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Thursday from 12PM until 8PM and at the church on Friday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Bill was born February 28, 1954 in Wantagh, New York to the late William and Margaret (Looram) Dillon. Bill graduated from Birch Run High School in 1972. He proudly obtained his Builder’s License from the State of Michigan in 1991. Mr. Dillon retired from General Motors in 2005 with 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #651. Bill was also the owner of Dillon Construction Company from 1990 until 2010. He was a member of St. Mary’s in Mt. Morris and the Knights of Columbus for 40 years. Bill enjoyed golfing, gardening, rock and roll music, and being the family comedian. He also enjoyed coaching sports and spending time with his grandchildren. Bill was famous for leaving you with, “be coolish, not foolish.”
Surviving are: Mother of his children, Denise Dillon; Children: Liam (Rachel) Dillon, Christina Dillon-Yott (Bill Robertson), and Shawn (Gabriella) Dillon; Grandchildren: Leita Yott, Audrey Dillon, and Madelyn Dillon; Siblings: Mary (David) Bevel, Kathy (Bob) Dowd, Tom Dillon, Maggie Johnson, Annie (Walt) Russ, Joe (Freada) Dillon, Lisa (Brett) Eppley; Several nieces and nephews; Dogs: Bishop and Miley.
