YOUNG, Louis - Of Swartz Creek, age 84, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Memorial Visitation will be held 1-8pm Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or breast cancer research.
Louis was born in Durand, Michigan on October 2, 1931, the son of the late Peter and Sarah (Burns) Young. On April 11, 1951, he married Wilma J. (Dolly) Marble. He was a fan of Cadillacs and loved singing his own songs. Louis owned Youngs Kountry Korner in Swartz Creek and The Corner Store in Vernon. Louis was employed with the government as a Rail Car Inspector for 35 years retiring 1990. He enjoyed traveling, especially to the southern states. Louis served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Surviving are wife, Wilma (Dolly);
3 daughters, Sheryl Spicer, Vicki (Joe) Adams and Joelle (Jody) Hindbaugh;
2 sons, Greg (Chris) Young and Steve Young;
11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Douglas, daughter, Deborah (Masters) Winter and 2 brothers.
