Linden
Douglas passed away in his home on February 18, 2019 in Linden, MI. He was born to Lloyd and Hermina Violette in Flint, MI. Doug was a hard worker who always enjoyed building things with his hands. He worked as a contractor for many years in the Flint area. He left Michigan to live in Dallas for several years. On returning to the area he worked as a salesman for Advance Electric working a wide territory in the state. He opened his own business called “Cover it” installing cabinets and counter tops until his retirement. He spent his retirement working part time doing small odd jobs. He also enjoyed camping and gardening in his retirement.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Bernard, Lawrence and Delores as well as his daughter Tammy Serrels. He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Steven) Pyke and son, Steve (Sharon) Violette along with grandchildren Charissa (Scott) Hope, Tina (Eddy) Boyd and Steven Violette, great grand children Delaney, Devin, Dylan, Courtney, Madison and Jacob and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be celebrating his life and love of ice cream on August 17th at 1:30 pm at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church Activity Center 310 N Cherry St Flushing, MI 48433
