RIDER, Martin – of Flint, age 62, passed away August 20, 2015 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. George Hodges officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Monday and 12-1 PM Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Martin was born in Flint, MI on August 23, 1952, son of the late Marshall Rider and Betty Barnes. He was an avid bowler, loved NASCAR, antique cars and retired after 30 loyal years at GM. Martin loved his grandchildren dearly and spoiled them.
Martin is survived by his wife, JoAnn; children, David Gaydos, Marty Rider, Jr., Rebecca (Taiwan Hodges) Rider; grandchildren, Anthony (LeeAnn) and Devon Rider, Aliyah Green; great-grandson, Anthony Rider; sister, Debbie Rider (Donna, Erica), Tammy (Merl) Sisk and kids; brother, Michael Barnes; sisters-in-law, Cathy (Steve) and kids, Judy (Danny) and kids, Marie and kids. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Amelia Johnson; brother-in-law, Barry; nephew, Scotty; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Jean Gaydos. The family would like to extend a special thanks to McLaren Hospice nurse Marianne Conway for making Martin’s last days comfortable. Heaven received another angel. He is flying high, soaring pain free. We love you until we meet again.
