ENGLISH, Arnold AKA Little Grandpa – Of Flint, age 85, died Sunday, September 11, 2011. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Post #822 Honor Guard. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mr. English was born in Flag Pond, Tennessee on August 29, 1926, the son of the late Dewey and Betsy (Edwards) English. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. English was employed by GM V-8 Plant, retiring in 1977 and was a member of UAW Local #659. Surviving are children, Sonya Warren and Randy (Gail); grandchildren, Corrie, Jamie (Randy), Jay (Corrina), Daniel and Megan; great-grandchildren, Troy, Jason, Jenah, Corrine “Peanut”, Caitlyn, Jaydin and Vivien; sister, Janice Walker; many nieces and nephews.
