LAVIGUEUR, Charles H. - of Clio, age 83, died on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at his residence, with family by his side. Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Private burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3PM until 7PM and Thursday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Charles was born September 29, 1936 in Hale, Michigan to the late Henry and Beatrice (Grenier) Lavigueur. He met the love of his life, Betty Cooper, on a blind date and the two later married on November 24, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Charles retired from General Motors with 30 years of service. He was a member of SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Charles taught baseball at Saginaw Valley State University and was very involved with his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was an avid farmer and enjoyed camping and bowling. Charles loved everything to do with horses and took great pride in his over the years. He was quick-witted and quite the jokester. Above all, Charles found true happiness when he was with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving are: Wife of 63 years, Betty Lavigueur; Son, Ricky (Judy) Lavigueur; Daughters: Tamara (Jerry) Knorr, and Jacqueline Rose; Grandchildren: Mark, Melanie, Adam, Steven, Bradley, Tara, Misty, Leslie, and R.J.; Great grandchildren: Alexander, Abbie, Alexis, Jordan, Matthew, Austin, Siara, Blain, Aiden, Walker, Anna, Shelby, Damion, Ethan, and Addie; Great-great grandchildren: Jace, Kingston, Abrielle, and Harper; Sisters: Ona Bell, and Rosena Mousseau. Many nieces, nephews, and very dear close friends. Charles was also preceded in death by: Son, Mark Lavigueur; Sisters: Laura Groulx, Grace Rehil, and Hazel Barnum; Brother, Floyd Lavigueur.
