RICHARDSON, Carole Emma – of Clio, age 80, died Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Michigan. Pastor Brad Richardson officiating. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Michigan. Memorial contributions can be made to the Clio Historical Society, First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris or Hospice House of Shiawassee County.

Carole was born April 6, 1939 in Ludington, Michigan to the late Otis and Dorothy (Luker) Smith. She grew up in Ludington, Michigan and moved to Mt. Morris, Michigan where she graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the class of 1957. Carole went on to attend Michigan State University and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education. On September 21, 1957 she married Gordon Richardson and he preceded her in death on August 5, 2012. Carole was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris, Clio Senior Center, and the Clio Historical Society. She enjoyed bingo, attend shows at the Clio Amphitheater, and her affiliation with the National Guard. Carole had a strong Christian faith and loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are: Children, Craig ( Colleen) Richardson, Cary (Sheri) Richardson; Grandchildren, Joshua (Lindsey) Richardson, Ashley Richardson, Cameron Richardson; Great Grandchildren, Sky, Hunter, Emma, Cooper, Javen; Great-Great Granddaughter, Maleya; Siblings, Neil (Sue) Smith, Dave (Joyce) Smith, Mark (Debbie) Smith, Shirley (Jim) Karenko, Diane (Bill) Blakely; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Gordon Richardson; Sister, Ruthie Smith; Sister in law, Phyllis Kauffman.
