John Henry Schmidt Sr.
Age 94 of Flint formerly of Owosso passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held 1pm Friday, July 27, 2012 at Nelson-House Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 8pm and on Friday from 9am until the time of service.
John was born January 30, 1918 in Owosso, the son of Henry and Anna (Chrest) Schmidt.
John married Imilda Lombardi in Flint in 1941, she predeceased him in 1985.
John had been employed through the years at Renown Stove Co and Redmonds both in Owosso and then retired from Ternstedt in Flint after 27 years of service.
He is survived by children John H. Schmidt Jr., Emma Schmidt and Helen Hodorovich, all of Flint; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers William (Betty) Chrest and Robert (Bethel) Chrest; sisters Leah Owens, Dorothy Rader and Ruthann Barr.
John is predeceased by his daughters Jacqueline Jones and Joyce Boledovich, his parents, brother Henry Chrest; sisters Emily Harris, Marie Warner, Lydia Nolph, Carol Rood, Donna Hoeppner and Chrestine DeFran.
