Byrd, Robert (Bobby) C. of Flint, MI age 77, died Tuesday, July 12 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1P Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint MI. Pastor Glenn Tatterson officiating.
Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2P - 5P and at 6P - 8P and also on Friday at noon until the time of service at Swartz Funeral Home. Those desiring, may make contributions to the Flint Baptist Temple Missionary Fund.
Mr. Byrd was born on December 2, 1933 in Duck Hill, Mississippi, the son of the late Christopher and Luna (Carroll) Byrd. He served his country in the US Army.
He married Joan Tenbusch on March 26, 1982 in Flint, MI. He was a member of the Flint Baptist Temple for over 40 years.
Mr. Byrd retired from GM in 1993.
Surviving are his wife, Joan, children Deborah Smith, sherry Byrd, Sammy Joe (Pam) Byrd, Jamie (Mark) Oliver, Timothy P.S. (Stephanie) Byrd, Joseph P. (Diane) Tenbusch and Jeffery M. Tenbusch, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren 7 brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and son, Christopher Byrd.
