SMITH, Jerry D. – of Clio, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. The family will receive visitors on Monday, August 17, 2020 from 12PM until 8PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Cremation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designation.
Jerry was born October 3, 1949 in Flint, Michigan to the late Wilson Roy and Irene (Kurtz) Smith. He worked at McLaren for 27 years before retiring in 2003 after being diagnosed with MS. Jerry was an avid sports fan and faithfully supported his Detroit Lions. In his able years, Jerry played softball for many teams and even bowled on leagues. He loved music and movies. Above all, Jerry loved his family very much. He will be greatly missed.
Jerry leaves behind: Loving wife of 31 years, Deborah K. Smith (Burns); Children: Amy L. Babbit, Jerry R. Smith, Sofia (Kevin) Boulton, Michelle Barry, Brandi Smith (Jason Bonds); 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; Siblings: Dennis (Dawn) Smith, Nancy Hoffman, and Barb Williams; Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and dear friends.
