Arden R. June of Millington passed away suddenly early Monday evening at the St. Mary’s of Michigan Medical Center in Saginaw MI Arden was 78.
Arden was the son of the late Varian & Edrea (Griswold) June and was born in Lapeer Michigan on February 3, 1935. On September 16, 1994 Arden and Susan were married, and together they have celebrated 18 years of marriage. Arden has been in business here in Millington the past 53 years when in 1960 he opened the Millington Insurance Agency. Arden was very active in the community. He was a charter member of Millington Lions Club, was an active member of the Millington Rotary, Millington- Arbela Historical Society, and was a past president of the Millington DDA, and as a young man Arden served in US- Army National Guard. One can safely say Arden loved people and working with them no matter what the project. And after 53 years in business Arden had no intentions of retiring. Most of all in life Arden loved being with family and friends that he dearly loved. His warm hand shake and his smile will be missed by many, but most of we will all miss “Keep Smiling” a line he used whenever he shook your hand as you left his office, or as he left your home.
Arden leaves his wife Susan, children; son and daughter in-law Alan & Holly June, daughter and son in-law Sheri & Jeff Schreiber, step-children, Lance & Wendy Krager, Tim & Connie Crow, and Rebecca Chase, 8-grandchildren, Jeff Jr. & Chris Schreiber, Breanne Chase, Garrett Krager, Chandler & Carson Crow, and Faith Fisher, 3-great grandchildren Christopher, Kyle, and Frankie. Arden leaves also a sister Pastor Gloria Haynes, other extended family and many friends. Besides his parents Arden is preceded in death by two sisters, his twin sister Ardith King, and his sister Jeanette Potter.
The family will receive friends on Thursday May 16, 2013 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and also for a brief time prior to the services on Friday morning at the Millington United Methodist Church beginning at 10:00 am until the services begin.
Funeral services for Arden will be held at the Millington United Methodist Church at 11:00 am Friday May 17, 2013. Pastor Pete Crawford will deliver the message, and the closing prayers. The burial will follow at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Memorial Gifts of Remembrance can be directed to the Millington United Methodist Church, Millington Lions Club, Millington Community Center, Millington Rotary Club, Millington Fire Dept, or to a charity of one’s choice.
