JONES, Cornelia E. – Of Clio, age 92, died Monday, July 15, 2013 at Gross Assisted Living.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Doug Klein officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to A-1 Hospice, 1040 S. State Road, Davison, MI 48423.
Visitation 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Cornelia was born in Malden, Missouri on July 22, 1920, the daughter of Marcus and Mergie (Wood) Blade and was a resident of Clio.
She was a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II, at Buick Motor Division.
On October 14, 1944 she married William W. "Bill" Jones in Flint.
She was a retired member of UAW Local #326.
Mrs. Jones was employed by GM for 27 1/2 years at the Ternstedt Plant.
She was an avid bowler for many years, loved gardening, flowers and her family.
Surviving are daughter, Vickie L. Price of Clio;
granddaughters, Cheria (Steven) Gross and Kristen (Jay) Yax;
great-grandchildren, Matthew Gross, Nathan Gross, Madelyn Yax, Emily Yax and Andrew Yax, all of Clio;
sisters, Pansy Jordan of Grand Blanc, Idabell Britton of Flint Township, Marilyn Olmstead of Grand Blanc;
friend for many years, Barbara Nellett of Mt. Morris.
Special thanks to Stacy of A-1 Hospice and the dedicated caregivers at Gross Assisted Living.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Jones; parents, Marcus and Mergie (Wood) Blades.
