WIECHMANN, Robert H. - Of Flint, age 90, died Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Laurel Heights Assisted Living.
Funeral service will be held 12pm Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Lindsey Carnes officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 11am Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Robert was born in Saginaw Michigan on January 19, 1930, the son of the late Henry and Louise (Brandt) Wiechmann. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School, Class of 1946. Robert graduated from Central Michigan University, Class of 1953, with a B.S. in Education. He later earned a MA in Education from CMU. Robert served in the United States Army from 1954-1955. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. Robert was employed as a teacher for thirty years and taught at Gaines High School in Gaines, Michigan and at Swartz Creek High School. Robert taught social studies and business courses and retired from Swartz Creek Community Schools in 1985. On August 3, 1955, Robert married Ruth Margaret Leach. During Robert’s life, he enjoyed reading, traveling and fishing.
Surviving is his wife, Ruth;
3 children, Sandra Snyder, Robert Wiechmann Jr., and Thomas Wiechmann;
2 grandsons, Ryan Wiechmann and Sean (Emily) Wiechmann;
And 2 great-grandsons.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hurley Medical Center and Laurel Heights Hospice.
