WHITNEY, Ida M. – of Genesee Township, age 92, passed away August 12, 2015 at Briarwood Manor. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Jim Britt officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 PM Tuesday and 10-11 AM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s disease Association.
Ida was born in Grand Blanc, MI on March 9, 1923, daughter of the late John and Florence (Warner) Packer. She married Ross Whitney and he preceded her in death in 1979. Ida was an avid bowler, enjoyed arts and crafts and was active with her church for many years.
Ida is survived by her nieces and nephews, Betty (Toby) Miller, Ellen (Fred) Sharp, Carol (Ralph) Vogan, Jack Church, Francine (Richard) Bailey; special nieces and nephews, Tammy (Gerry) VanDam, Mark (Elise) Reitsma.
