NORFLEET, John Thomas - Of Flushing, age 88, died Saturday, December 29 2018 at Living Joy Assisted Living.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint,
Father Anthony Strouse officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation 1-4pm and 6-8pm Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the church until the time of the Mass.
John was born in Flint on May 2, 1930, the son of the late Howard and Esther (Senseth) Norfleet. On February 5, 1949, he married Doris Aurey and she preceded him in death on March 9, 2005. John retired from General Motors Swartz Creek Parts Plant in 1990 and he also owned Aurey Senseth Photography. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Surviving are son, Darwin, daughter, Karen (James) Nelson, daughter, Cathy (Nathan) Parks and son, Darren;
grandchildren, Larry, Michelle, Matthew, Christine, Senea, Alyssa, and Scott;
great-grandchildren, Alijah, Zaynah, Jada, Abbey, Eric Jr., Michael, and Scott Jr.;
sisters, Noreen Sheffer, Nancy Way and Ola;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol LeValley.
