LORENZ, Muriel B. – Of Grand Blanc, age 84, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Larry Burk officiating.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Muriel was born in Flint, Michigan on July 11, 1929, daughter of the late David and Harriett (Carside) Gardner.
She married Edwin Lorenz on September 30, 1950 in Flint and have shared 63 wonderful years together.
Muriel was a faithful and strong supporter of her husband in his career objectives, his music and other activities. She was known for her optimistic outlook and her determination to live above life's challenges.
She was a model mother to her four children and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lorenz was known for her fantastic cooking-much of which has been passed down to the next generation.
She attended South Baptist Church.
Surviving are loving husband, Edwin;
daughter, Bethany (Larry) Shelton of Grand Blanc;
daughter, Cheryl (Michael) Dipzinski of Columbus, Ohio;
son, Martin (Mary) Lorenz of Grand Blanc and
son, Edwin D. (Shelly) Lorenz of Grand Blanc;
12 grandchildren, Dr. Scott (Elizabeth) Shelton,
Jacquelyn Shelton,
Ryan (Erin) Dipzinski,
Adam (Jessica) Dipzinski,
Eric(Carli) Dipzinski,
Laura (Andrew) Dipzinski,
Jennifer (Andrew) Hall,
Luke (Jennifer) Lorenz,
April (Adam) Garseau,
Alyson Lorenz,
Grant Lorenz and
Jaime Lorenz;
19 great-grandchildren;
sister, Evelyn Lawrence of Grand Blanc.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and three sisters.
