JOHNSON, Roger E. – of Clio, formerly Crookston, MN, age 67, died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Tuesday from 3-9 PM and on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of services. Contributions may be made to the family.
Roger was born on July 14, 1944 in Crookston, MN to the late Elmer Johnson and lived in Clio since 1985. He served in the US Air Force and worked on fighter jet in Germany. Roger married Norma Alderfer on November 25, 1983 in Flint. He retired from GM Fisher body UAW Local 659 in 2009. Roger was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auto City and the VFW in Flint. He enjoyed fishing, working in the woodshop, locksmith and lighting fireworks. Roger loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are: children, Wendy (Bob) Dickson of Deford, Rhonda Lara of Flint, Kevin Ross of Flint, Rebecca (Mitch) Ross of Flint; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; nephews, Duane, Sidney (Penny) Betteen.
