Betty Jane Kane, age 100, of Flushing, MI and Sage Lake, MI, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024. Cremation has taken place. Betty was born on June 20, 1923, in Flint, MI to the late William and Anna Kruger. She was raised in Flint, MI with her siblings, Margaret, Elsie, Lucielle, Walter, and Verna. She attended St. Michael’s Catholic Schools and graduated in 1941. Following graduation, Betty married Melvin Kane on June 23, 1945. Betty enjoyed playing bridge and loved spending summers at Sage Lake with family and life long friends. She is survived by her four children - Whitey Kane, Pat (Patty) Kane, Mike (Carrie) Kane, and Mary Ann (Jim) Ellis; 8 grandchildren - Adam, Ryan, Erin, Michael, Andy, Taler, Wendal and Austin; 5 great grandchildren - Jacob, Will, JJ, GG and Ezra; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Betty’s family would like to show unconditional love and appreciation to her caregiver Sharon. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Melvin in 1985, and 2 grandsons, Justin Kane and Tony Kane. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Betty can be made to Sage Lake Association at https://sagelake.org/donate/. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30th, 2024 at St. Roberts Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing, MI 48433 from 9:30 am to the time of mass at 11:00 am.
