LOBDELL, Thomas F. – of Mt. Morris, age 78, died Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his residence. Family will receive visitors at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 1PM until 4PM. Graveside Services will be held 12PM Monday at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy. Pastor Doug Klein officiating. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Genesee County Humane Society.
Tom was born July 8, 1938 in Flint, Michigan to the late Harry and Venus (Ackerman) Lobdell. He married Norma Hill on October 26, 1968 in Pontiac, Michigan. Tom had resided in the Mt. Morris area for the last 6 years coming from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Mr. Lobdell is a U.S. Army Veteran serving with the 101st Airborne Division. He was a truck driver for 48 years with Jack Cooper before retiring. Tom enjoyed relaxing by the lake and fishing. He also enjoyed making knives and collecting antique clocks. Above all, Tom loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and dogs.
Surviving are: Wife, Norma Lobdell of Mt. Morris; Children: Thomas Russell (Mary) Lobdell, Jennifer Lynn Lobdell (Donna), Janet Louise (Timothy) Kretz, Emma Tracie Brown, Floyd Thomas Lobdell, Carrie Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Pundsack, and Ashley Nicole Lobdell; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; Siblings: Judy Newton, Harry Edwin (Judith) Lobdell II, and Kenneth Richard (Debbie) Lobdell; Many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends. Tom was also preceded in death by his Son, Harry Edwin Lobdell III; Sister, Janet Cole; Brother, Dallas Lobdell; Brothers in law: Dale Newton and Roger Cole; Loving furry companions: Scooter, Lady Ann, and Snickerdoodle.
