HUFFMAN, Althea M. - age 85, of Swartz Creek/Mundy Twp., died Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Dennis Ureche officiating. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-8 PM Monday and 11 AM - 12 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Mrs. Huffman was born October 1, 1931 in Flushing, the daughter of William and Carrie (Moore) Hendricks. She was a 1950 graduate of Swartz Creek High School. She married Samuel L. Huffman on July 14, 1951 in Flint and he preceded her in death on November 6, 1991. Mrs. Huffman had worked for Ketzler's Flowers for several years as a bookkeeper and was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. She enjoyed golf and was active in the Girls Scouts for many years as a camp director and troop leader. Surviving are: six children, Ronald H. (Ronda) Huffman of Swartz Creek, Deborah L. (Robert) Kirby of Flint, Cynthia A. (Martin) Haugh of Byron, Thomas W. (Denise) Huffman of Swartz Creek, Timothy M. (Lisa) Huffman of Fenton, Missouri, and Kenneth A. (Shelly) Huffman of Linden; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorrine H. Dallas of FL; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; her brother, Darwin Hendricks; and special friend, Richard Christopher.
