ANDREWS, Gordon Guelberth – Of Flint, age 72, died Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Gordon was born on January 18, 1947 in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, the son of Gordon and Jennie (Marsh) Andrews.
On February 1, 1964 he married Rayette Parrish in Flint.
He was Chairman of UAW Local #659 for many years and UAW International Representative for 10 years.
He was a proud member of the Democratic Party his whole life.
He was an avid lifetime organic gardener, had a passion for singing and enjoyed politics. Above all he loved his family.
Surviving are wife, Rayette;
children, Melisa Baughman, Gordon (Kandice), Melinda (Jyri) Silolahti and Greg (Jenniffer);
grandchildren, Ashley, Katie, Jessica, Megan, Elizabeth, Anna, Nikolas and Lydia;
great-grandchildren, Julio and Axel;
sisters, Marsha and Michelle.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
