Stokes, Mr. Michael age- 54 passed away Saturday June 28, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday July 5, 2014 from the West Carpenter Rd. Church of Christ, G-2296 W. Carpenter Rd. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11am for visitation. Mr. Stokes will repose in the Chapel of the Martin J. Banks Funeral Home from 10am until 6pm Friday evening Mr. Michael Todd Stokes Sr. was born March 19, 1960 in Flint, Mich., the son of Luther (Lizzy) Stokes Jr. and (mother) Pearlie Mae Hooker. He was employed at Mid America as a manufacturing lines worker and did quality control work for 10 years. He went on to work at Plastic systems as a machine operator for 5 years until they closed the shop down. He also worked at Precinct 31 for the city of Flint election board as he did work for Inez Brown at every election for 10 years. He leaves to cherish his memory: Son, Michael Todd Stokes Jr., Sister, Linda (Jimmy) Orr; 2 brothers, Walter Stokes and Anthony Stokes, and Step-sister Brenda Albert, all of Flint, Mich. 1 grandson; Tobias Stokes, 1 niece; Latwana (Fred) Keels; 4 nephews; Samuel Charles Richardson and Demetrius Latrelle Stokes; Andre Brian Orr, and Jonathan Patrick Orr, Other relatives, host of cousins here in Flint, Mich., Friends including, Ronnie Presswood, Debbie Sanders and Co-worker "Rick". Also Morris (Mary) Brady; Linda Jennings, (mother of his son). He leaves to cherish one special best friend, Wanda Phelps, whom loved and cherished him for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearlie Mae Hooker. |
