Mary Catherine Debien, age 92, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 9, 2019 in Grand Blanc, Michigan. She was born on August 14, 1926 to parents Lester and Ida (Richardson) Whalen in Detroit, Michigan. Mary was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church for over 50 years. She was an active member of the 55 and Over Group. She had a passion for reading and education. She was an avid sports fan. Mary is survived by her children: Timothy Debien, Maureen Debien, and Paul (Kathy) Debien; grandchildren: Sydney (Patrick), Tanner, Sarah, Spenser, and Bradley; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband of 62 years, Leo T. Debien; son, Thomas Debien; siblings: Jack Whalen and Jean Penninger. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Father Bill Wegher celebrating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 5-8pm with a Rosary Service at 7:30pm at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. The family will receive visitors at church, prior to mass, beginning at 10:00am. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Hospice or the Carmelite Nuns of Detroit. |
