FILPANSICK, Charles J. “Charlie” – of Pinconning, formerly of Clio, Michigan age 71, died on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be held 11AM Friday, November 6, 2020 at SS. Charles & Helena Catholic Church. 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Wednesday from 5PM until 9PM, Thursday from 2PM until 9PM, and at the church on Friday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clio Veterans Memorial Park.
Charlie was born December 25, 1948 in Cadillac, Michigan to the late Charles and Helen (Puchala) Filpansick. He graduated from Clio High School in 1967. Mr. Filpansick is a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War Veteran. He proudly served his country for several years before being honorably discharged. Charlie owned and operated Filpansick Brothers Trucking. He was a member of SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church, the Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post #1452 of Clio, and the American Legion Neeley Labar Post #158 of Clio. Charlie was a pillar of the Clio community, sponsored many sports teams, and helped build the Clio Veterans Memorial Park, Clio Amphitheater, and the Clio Youth Sports Complex. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outside in nature. Charlie loved helping people however he could and was the rock of the family. Above all, Charlie loved spending time with his family and always put them first. He will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving are: Sons: Ed Filpansick, Jon (Erika) Filpansick, Joe (Amanda) Filpansick, and Pete (Stephanie) Filpansick; Grandchildren: Nolan Curtis, Charlie Filpansick, Trenton Marsh, Travis Filpansick, Ray Filpansick, Chelsea Mitchell, Emma McCartney, Olivia Payea, Madison Filpansick, Henry Filpansick, and Lillian Filpansick; Siblings: Jim Filpansick, Tom Filpansick, Margie Goza, Judy Frank, Debbie Pettengill, and their spouses; Aunts: Dorothy Peraino, and Agnes Longaker; Many cousins, nieces, nephews, other loving family members and dear friends.
