Norman Erwin Gary

Age 85 of Owosso passed away Sunday December 9, 2018 at Hazel Findlay Country Manor in St. Johns.

Funeral Services will be held 11am Saturday December 15, 2018 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Corunna with Reverend Russ Merrill officiating.

Burial will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Friday December 14 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Norman was born May 30, 1933 in Flint, Michigan; the son of Norman Clark Gary and Emma Ann (Lashbrook) Gary.

He attended Owosso and Corunna Schools and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Corunna, where Norman enjoyed playing the organ and was very active in the church activities.

Norman was a member of the Shiawassee Council On Aging, where he was an outreach manager and field coordinator for the retired senior volunteer program and he also helped arrange the Meal on Wheels program.

Norman proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 12 years, from 1953-1965.

He is survived by his nephew Max (Ruth) Swan; great-niece Renea (Richard) Slovak; special friends Linda (Ed) Ash, Russ Merrill and Barb Stewart.

Norman was predeceased by his parents; his sister Eleanor Swan; two nieces and one nephew.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Shiawassee Council on Aging or to the organ fund at St. Paul Episcopal Church.
