MONTPAS (DILLON), Patricia, RN, MSN, EdD – Of Swartz Creek, age 72, died unexpectedly on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Church, 4413 South Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, Reverend Father Louis Ekka celebrating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 12-3 and 5-8 p.m. Monday at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Dr. Montpas will be at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the Mass.
Patsy was born on April 5, 1944 to Herbert and Virginia (Urbanik) Dillon.
She was the eldest of five sisters, Paula Parrott, Joanne (Randy) Seeley, Theresa (Frank) Hyde and Vicki (Mark) Sytek. Patsy was a proud graduate of St. Agnes High School, St. Joseph School of Nursing, UM-Flint and Wayne State University. She earned her Doctorate in Education in 1992. Patsy married Michael Montpas at St. Agnes Catholic Church on October 23, 1965. They were blessed to be married almost 52 years. Together they raised seven children, Danielle, Paul (Cathy), Tony (Lori), Michelle, Brian (Traci), Beth and Monica (Joey). They were thrilled with the 16 grandchildren they shared. For more than 50 years, Patsy was a Registered Nurse and taught hundreds of nursing students as a Professor at Mott Community College (1984-2005). Patsy was a faithful parishioner at St. Mary Queen of Angels Church. She loved her faith, her family, doing crafts and going to casinos.
She is survived by her husband, Michael;
mother, Virginia Dillon;
four sisters; seven children and 16 grandchildren.
She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Elaine (Jerry) Bendis, Mary Lou Montpas and Shirley Montpas;
a multitude of nieces and nephews.
She will be loved and missed by all of them as well as her high school friends, neighbors and nursing buddies.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert; brothers-in-law, Sonny, Denis, Lawrence and Dan; sisters-in-law, Dolores and Joanie and niece, Ann Montini.
