HANN, Edwin L. - Of Grand Blanc, age 84, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at the hospice house in Genesee Care Center.

A memorial service will be held 11am Monday, October 10, 2016 at Life Church, 2077 East Bristol Road, Burton, MI 48529,

Reverend Donald Embury officiating.

Visitation 2-7pm Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10am Monday at church until the time of the service.

Contributions may be made to Life Church.

Edwin was born in Corunna, Michigan on May 24, 1932, the son of Marvin and Marie (Schremmer) Hann. He graduated from Corunna High School, Class of 1951. In 1952, he married his high school sweetheart. He was active duty in the army from 1952-1954, stationed in Austria, achieving the rank of Sgt E5. Edwin worked 33 years at Chevrolet Truck and Bus. He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather.

He leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Jean and John Oberlies;

granddaughter, Morgan Leigh Hann;

2 step-granddaughters, Jennifer (Paul) Kuperman and Christie (Ryan) Randolph;

sister, Hazel Eldridge and nephew, Rodney Eldridge;

and great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his bride of 64 years, Gladys Irene (Self) Hann, parents, brother Walter, and two sons Douglas Dean and Larry Marvin.
