Seroka, Michaeline Johan “Mickey”, of Flushing, age 77, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 31, 2017. Funeral Mass will be 11 am Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at St Robert Catholic Church located at 310 North Cherry Street Flushing with Fr. Anthony Brooks officiating. Internment will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be at Rossell Funeral Home located at 307 East Main Street Flushing from 5-8 pm Sunday, and 2-8 pm Monday with a vigil service at 7 pm Monday. An additional viewing will be held at St. Robert Church on Tuesday from 10am until the time of the Mass.
Mickey was born in Hamtramck, MI on September 3, 1939, the daughter of John and Harriet (Zbikowski) Mieszczak. She married Richard P. Seroka in Hamtramck on October 24, 1959. He preceded her in death on September 10, 2012. She loved her home, entertaining and was gifted in a wide variety of arts and crafts. Mickey loved socializing and enjoyed dining with friends and family. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
She is survived by her children, Laurine and husband Christopher Moore, Todd and wife Lisa Seroka, Paul Seroka, Peter Seroka, and Amy Donnelly; 7 grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah, Ryan, Adam, Lauren, John III, and Meghan; brothers, John and Richard Mieszczak; and sister, Laurice Platzke. In addition to her husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Mieszczak. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Red Cross.
