HAM, Olen G. – Of Grand Blanc, age 95, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at
Bristol United Methodist Church, 5285 Van Slyke Road, Flint, Reverend Marvin L. Herman officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bristol United Methodist Church Women’s Group or charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service.
Mr. Ham was born in Caraway, Arkansas on May 28, 1917, the son of Paul and Olive (Albright) Ham.
He married Flora Jean Harris on August 23, 1941 in Flint and she preceded him in death on August 27, 1993. He was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church.
Mr. Ham was employed by GM, retiring in 1978, after 37 years of service. He was a participant in the 1936-1937 Sit-down Strike.
Surviving are four children, Edward and wife Pat of Oregon, Barbara and husband Victor Montrull of Grand Blanc,
James and wife Dianne of Holly,
Richard and wife Robin of Fenton;
grandchildren, Eric (Lia), Caitlin (Travis), Leon, James J. (Lisa), Daniel (Shannon), Jon (Sara), Kimberly (Joe), Garth (Michelle), Lance (Nicole), Blake(Nico),Sean (Christina), Scott( Julie), Brian (Michelle), Jeffery (Angeline), Brandon (Erin), Victor, Jr. (Danelle), Shelley (Tony), Rhonda (Joe) and James (Shawn);
many great-grandchildren;
brother, David (Betty);
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Wayne; sister, Pauline Ewels.
