MACDONALD, Kenneth W. - Of Flint, age 83, passed Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Genesys Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am Saturday, April 25, 2015
at St Mary Catholic Church, 2500 North Franklin Avenue, Flint,
Father Santiago Arockiyasamy officiating.
Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation 11am-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 6:30pm Friday evening at the funeral home. Mr. MacDonald will be at the church 9am Saturday until the time of the Mass.
Kenneth was born in Flint on March 15, 1932, the son of the late Walter and Cecile MacDonald. Kenneth graduated from Flint Central High School, Class of 1950 and graduated from the University of Michigan and received his Master’s in Business Law from Central Michigan University. Kenneth served in the Michigan National Guard. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church and St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Kenneth was a life member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus, a member and Past Grand Marshall of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians and was the past President of the University Club in Flint. He was a member of the U of M Flint Recreation Center and worked out daily until his recent illness. Kenneth enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, and was an avid runner and walker his entire life. Kenneth retired as a Cost Engineer from General Motors after 40 plus years of service.
Surviving are former wife and friend, Mary Ann;
children, Michael of Flint, Patrice and husband Wayne Adams of Flint, Lori and husband Michael Owen of Grand Blanc and Matthew and wife Regina of Flint;
grandchildren, Sarah and Ashley MacDonald, Patrick and Kyle Owen and fiancee, Ashley Fisher, and Teagan and Nicholas MacDonald;
sister, Mary Elaine MacDonald of Flint;
niece Tamela and husband Mick Bauchan and their children, Taylor and Bayley; and nephew, Timothy Sissons and Lisa Maine and son Steven Maine.
