EVANS Charles Burton - age 74 of Swartz Creek, passed away September 28, 2024. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, October 4, 2024, at Swartz Creek Community Church, 7400 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473 with Pastor Dan Bowman officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Swartz Creek Community Church Memorial Committee. Charles was born May 15, 1950, in Akron, OH, the son of Burton M. and Jewel Constance (Rutherford) Evans, Jr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. Charles married Linda Tambini on August 8, 1970, in Akron, OH. He retired from General Motors in 2005 after 32 years where he worked in International Logistics. Charles was a member on Swartz Creek Community Church where he served as a chairman of the trustees and on the finance committee. He was also a member of The Kiwanis and American Legion. Surviving are: wife, Linda; three children, Christopher C. (Katrina) Evans of Athens, GA, Tonya Lyn Evans of Swartz Creek, MI, and Danielle (Spencer) Dawkins of Chester, VA; Grandchildren, Cooper, Eleanor, Delaney, Maya, Adeline, and Sebastian; his faithful companion, Luci. He was preceded in death by: his father Burton Evans; mother, Jewel King; stepfather, Chester King; sister, Karen Mackey; Uncle Charles Evans. The family extends a special thank you to Pastor Dan and Swartz Creek Community Church for all the love shown through prayers, visits and keeping the fridge full.
