YOKOBOSKY, Alan M. – of Clio, age 64, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 peacefully at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Alan at 10:30AM, Saturday, October 20, 2018 at SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church, 230 E. Vienna Street, Clio. Fr. Ken Coughlin officiating. Burial to follow in Thetford Township Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home on Friday from 11AM until 8PM and on Saturday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of Mass at 10:30AM. A rosary service will be prayed at 7PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church.
Alan was born June 28, 1954 in Flint, Michigan to the late Joseph and Angeline (Kondell) Yokobosky. He graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1972. Alan obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Science from Central Michigan University in 1976. He also received an Engineering Technology degree from Michigan Technical University and was pursuing a Master’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University. Alan married Donna Kozan (Congdon) on December 23, 1992 in Flushing, Michigan. He retired on May 1, 2018 from TE Connectivity Sensor Solutions in Minnesota. Alan worked as a Quality Manager for medical, aerospace, and ITAR related products.
He previously worked for the Caterpillar Company as an engineer. Alan started his career as a job-setter and operator for General Motors Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing, “Chevy in the hole”. He eventually transferred to GM Delphi as a Purchasing Senior and Advanced Quality Engineer. Before the plant closing he was promoted to a Quality and Change Manager. Alan enjoyed boating, grilling, playing guitar, and snowmobiling. He was extremely passionate about the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. Alan even studied Topography and knew everything about Michigan’s woodlands, waterways and tributaries. Above all, he loved spending time with family and his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Wife, Donna; Children: Sarah (John) Belcher, Kathryn (David) Broadfoot, Sarah (Keith) Stoutenburg, Rebecca (William) McIntosh, and Michael (Victoria) Kozan; 9 grandchildren: Eleanor, Caroline, Molly, Tess, Josie, Austin, Derek, Alec, and Ashton; Brother, Joseph (Ann) Yokobosky; Sisters: Debby (Tom) Hessell, and many other nieces and nephews.
