COLLAR, Eugene H. – of Burton, age 78, died Friday, June 12, 2015 at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. Harold K. Polk officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Clio. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8PM and Tuesday from 1PM until the time of service at 2PM. Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Eugene was born April 16, 1937 in Flint, Michigan to the late Oliver H. and Janet R. (Fent) Collar. He graduated from Clio High School in 1955. Eugene earned his Bachelor of Science and Business degree from Michigan State University in 1959 with honors. He worked at Kresge Department Store for 5 years and later was a manager with Hills Department Store in Erie, Pennsylvania. Eugene loved playing the piano, music and live theatre. He enjoyed gardening and flowers. Eugene was known for having an outstanding sense of humor.
Surviving are: Sister, Joyce (Larry) Lee of Burton; Sister in law, Pamela Collar of Clio; Lifelong friend, Daryl Kazmier of West Branch; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins; several other loving family members, friends and his furry black cat, Kitty-Kitty.
