Venable, Betty Lou of Bath, formerly of Flushing, age 85, died Friday, June 14, 2024, at her home. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
Betty Lou was born on February 25, 1939, the youngest of 12 siblings born to William and Lena (Loiselle) Bradford. She married Douglas Venable on December 15, 1956, in Flint and spent 67 years together in marriage. Betty Lou was a devoted wife and mother, staying home to raise her children. She later worked for many years at Bueche’s Food World and the Corunna Road Auto Parts Store. She was a faithful member of Dartmouth Missionary Church in Flint. Betty Lou loved playing the piano and played as the pianist at church. She was an avid bowler. Together with her husband and family, they enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Houghton Lake. Betty Lou’s greatest joy was her children and grandchildren.
Betty Lou is survived by her husband, Doug; children, Kevin and wife Tonya Venable, Luann and husband Anthony Shulick; grandchildren, Kevin, II and wife Mechelle Venable, Kristin and husband Jason Roover; great-grandchildren, Haley, Hannah, Madyson, Laney, Lydia, Pamela, Brooke, Hunter; great-great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Danny; and sisters, Joann Bordeaux and Shirley McDowell. She was preceded in death by her parents; nine brothers and sisters; and her beloved dog, Snowball.
